miss maggie-love
introducing our new puppy: maggie! we call her maggie-love because she has a perfect little spot on her tail that looks like a heart. she’s sweet and we love her.

seven.
clark family
i had the pleasure of taking photos of my good friend courtney and her family.
they made it so easy for me.
it’s no secret that i bring bribery when i take pictures of kids…it always works. suckers and ring pops rewarded to the kids that make my job easy (and to make sure the parents are happy too, of course.)

these two really didn’t want to take a picture together. i threatened eating the aforementioned ring pop and was able to get this…
what cracks me up is that this is totally their personalities.

thank you again! i hope you had as much fun as i did!
first days
one kid in 1st grade and the other in her second year of preschool. where does the time go. i feel like a broken record, but really…i mean look at them.

super fun times ahead. i can’t wait to see what this year brings my two amazing girls!
happy bing bang boom!
happy 4th everyone! found these loverly berries here. they were a huge hit!
preschool photo project
at the end of the 2010 – 2011 preschool year, one of the teachers asked me to take photos of each kid as part of a little slideshow she was putting together. i had so much fun taking photos of all these cute mugs!

each photo was individually inserted in the slideshow to music. miss kelly warned me there would be tears. she was right. i’m a sucker for cute photos of kids backed by “somewhere over the rainbow” by israel kamakawiwo’ole.
i just love this preschool and it will be a bittersweet goodbye next year when stella graduates.
yellow…oh yeah
when i hear the word “yellow” i think of sunshine, butter, lemons, sunflowers and ferris bueller’s day off . remember the song “oh yeah” by yellow? well, there you go. that’s how i got there.
but this week is all about yellow on i hear faces! it’s been ages since i’ve submitted anything, but i remembered a cutie-pie i recently did portraits of who had on the most adorable yellow sweater that her mama made…yes, made. she’s super crafty like that and i’m super envious! here’s chloe in her yellow. super! (my word of the day.)
be sure to head on over to i heart faces and see all the wonderful yellow submissions!
random thursday
this is getting me through the day today.
i have convinced myself that loving this cereal is ok because it is cheerios.
yes, they are chocolate cheerios, but they are made with whole grains. that makes it ok, right? right?? is this thing on?
lots to do today and i’m just feeling bleh. i’m thinking an afternoon coffee is going to be in order.
buddy love
our kitty, buddy (if you knew him, you’d understand how fitting that name really is) was missing for 6 days. i started to panic thinking the worst had happened. we got to the make-signs-and-call-everyone-we-know-phase of things. low and behold, through facebook (gotta love facebook sometimes) our neighbor mentioned seeing him. i went outside on friday afternoon and he was laying on our front lawn. i was worried because he wasn’t moving or responding to my voice. my heart sank. i sat on the grass next to him and touched his back. he flinched and tried to nip at my hand. i was overjoyed. but as this happened, i realized his face was very very swollen. something was very wrong. i picked him up and took him into the house and closed him off in the bathroom. i didn’t want the girls to be scared of how he looked – it was not good. the short story is that i ended up having to take him to the pet hospital and they kept him over night. he was dehydrated and they needed to drain the massive amounts of fluid in his mouth. poor kitty. i picked him up this morning and he looked like this:
the cone of shame. you’ve seen “up” right?
they still aren’t 100% sure what happened. it could be that got bit by something. it could be that he got in a fight. he’s 13, so this could be a sign of age and something more serious. time will tell. if the infection stays away, then we know it was a bite or something. keeping my fingers crossed.
and now, 6 days later (the length of time he was missing) he looks like this:
lookin’ good buddy. we are so glad you are home!
